Total Helplessness
I drive a bus for an educational district. One day, a coworker with whom I worked every day suffered a severe cardiac arrest. She was not on the bus, but in her own car. She was the last person to reach the base parking lot so nobody noticed her suffering. She was literally dying while her car was in Park and her foot was on the gas.
She was already too sick to be taken to hospital. We are all at risk of heart attacks as school bus drivers, due to our sleep deprivation and obesity. Even though I am one of the younger employees in my company, I’m still scared.
