Workplace horror stories told by disgruntled employees

Broken Bones and Severed Ties

I was a Walmart employee for a brief time. I did everything I could to unload the pallets. I thought I was fast. I had studied the process, and I believed that I had perfected it. Every day, my manager would come up to me to tell me that I was too slow. So I accelerated my pace, but the rapid pace caused me to lose focus and break my finger.

When I told management that my injury might make me a bit slower, they said “We will not tolerate any laziness” and gave me a written warning when I did not meet their absurd standards. So, I never came back after my shift. Never called or formally quit. I never returned.
