Workplace horror stories told by disgruntled employees

All the Rewards

We have a rewards programme at my workplace where we ask people for their addresses in order to sign up. My manager told me that some customers do not want to provide their addresses, so I should enter a fake one. For example: 123 Tree Rd. I remember the call we received from a man who was very confused. As he explained his situation, I could not help but widen my eyes.

He claimed to have received hundreds of coupons, each addressed to a different person. It turns out that 123 Tree Rd was a real street address and the man had signed up for hundreds rewards programs. He was a good sports about it. We laughed the rest of that day when my manager ended the call with him.
