Workplace horror stories told by disgruntled employees

Unclear instructions

I was a pizza driver for two years. The coach would change the schedule mid-week and get upset when we failed to show up. The final straw was when he had the new restaurant manager (sixth at this point), call me to tell me that if I didn’t show up by noon I would be fired. I was terrified.

I was able to get there on time because my mother drove me (my wife had used my car at the time for her work) and the manager still said that he would write me off for not showing up on a “scheduled” date, even though I didn’t have a schedule and I had a photo of it to prove it. He said I was always doing it and not checking the schedule when he changed it.

I left the office at that moment. I took off my vest, hat and put them on a counter. Unemployment was not fun, but was much better than harassment. I never looked back. I got a job and am now moving up. Good for me.
