Not Good Enough
Kmart was having a Thanksgiving Day and I worked nonstop for 5 hours due to all the “good bargains”. I found a bottle of water under my register, and I drank one glass. The assistant manager glanced at me, but said nothing. I was hungry and needed a 30-minute break. I asked for cover for my lunch break.
The assistant manager informed me that I did not get a meal because I drank my water. Then I told her that was too bad, walked out and took all my things out of my locker before walking to the parking lot. All the managers rushed to me and begged me to return and work. They also apologized. They told me I could have my lunch.
The assistant manager even apologized to me (in a pathetic way). It was too late. I was thirsty and tired so I went to my house and drank an ice cold glass of water on the couch.
