Workplace horror stories told by disgruntled employees

A Pianist Panic

I am a jazz and classic pianist. While playing in a high-end bar, out of the corner my eye, I saw an older man fall at his table. He was alone and no one noticed. It didn’t matter which way you looked at it, no one made a fuss. I ended up saying into the microphone: “Does anyone have a medical doctor on the floor?”

A woman approached me and asked if I was okay. I pointed her in the direction of the other section, where the man sat. The staff gathered around at that moment. We learned later that he had suffered a heartattack, but was fine. I find it incredible that in such a busy venue, no one noticed him or cared to help.
