Big Impact
A few weeks ago, I was filming an amateur football match when a young boy collided with another team’s goalkeeper. He was frightened and lying on the ground. I thought he was just trying to catch his breathe and would be fine. After a few moments, he was taken off the field and substituted. He was walking gingerly when I saw him later.
He was far from being okay. The doctor told him he had an exploded liver when he took him to the hospital. Poor boy spent hours in surgery, and almost lost his life. He lost 30 percent of his weight and was kept together with an absurd amount of staples.
He was eventually released. I have slow motion footage of everything. I hope he gets back to the place he was.
