Workplace horror stories told by disgruntled employees

Kids Say the Darndest Things

Here’s the teacher. One day during lunch, a 4-year-old raised his hand. She was upset that the boy sitting next to her had said he would go to her home, kill her mother, and bury it in the yard as she watched. I immediately reported the incident, but I first tried to comfort the girl. I told her: “It would have upset me as well if someone had said that. But sometimes people make mistakes and say hurtful things.”

The boy cut me off at that moment. His reply sent shivers up my spine. “I really meant it. When I reported it to the school, they brushed it off. The child had a behavioral issue that led to another teacher quitting. His school’s punishment was to “don’t pay any attention to him but reward him when he is good”.

I couldn’t hug her to make her better.
