Valuable Discoveries Found In Unexpected Places

110. The Mysterious Cone Spiral of the Egyptian Desert

Location: Near Hurghada, Egypt
Year Found: 1997
Est. Value Unknown

There are many unknowns in the Egyptian Desert. Aerial images from 1997 of an ominous cone spiral were leaked. This convinced everyone that aliens might be real.

It would turn out, however, that the spiral in question was a human creation. This double spiral piece of land-art was created by a trio of Greek painters. You can see it in Hurghada, along the Red Sea Coast. It is called the Desert Breath. These cones may look like giant alien anthills, but they’re actually a beautiful, clever art installation.

111. Orange Snow Falls Over Eastern Europe

Location: Bulgaria, Romania, Ukraine, Russia
year discovered: 2018.
Est. Value: N/A (Weather Event)

You can say with certainty that people get quite anxious whenever an unusual weather event happens, until an explanation has been found. In 2018, orange-colored snow fell in Bulgaria, Romania Russia and Ukraine. This radioactive snow blanketed resorts and towns.

Sand storms in the Sahara Desert were the likely cause. The sand clouds made their way from the Sahara Desert to Eastern Europe and mixed with snow that fell in the area. The pictures of this event are strangely surreal. They look like they were captured on Mars in a snowstorm.
