Even his own children were unaware of what Dr. Harold Carr had been up to in his final years. When the orthopedic surgeon died in 2007, his children began going through his estate and found an unexpected surprise.

Carr had concealed a 1937 Bugatti Atalante 57S, which is one of only seventeen known to exist, in his garage. It was worth $8.5 million. Carr purchased the car from a Northumberland Lord in the 1950s. He kept it in his garage, but he drove it briefly in the 1960s.
