Renovations can be a treasure trove of strange items and additions, especially when they are done to an existing building or home. Two salon owners from Runcorn in England discovered, while renovating the property of their business, a hidden room and a tunnel behind a staircase.

This mysterious room was filled with tiny squares of glass, a mirror that had rusted, bricks and a sandstone arched door. Adele Young said that she was shocked and amazed to discover such an unusual secret room in the back of her salon. Young believes that her salon has been “haunted”.

Daniel Kristiansen was a 14-year-old Danish student, who, along with his father Klaus, went to a field nearby for Daniel’s World War II homework. Family legends tell the Kristiansens that a German aircraft crashed in their area near 1944.

They set off to search for the plane without expecting it would be true. They were surprised to find a WWII plane along with the pilot’s outfit, a skeleton and an old wallet containing coins. It was a Messerschmitt Bf 109 warplane, which the Luftwaffe used extensively during the Second World War.
