The largest cave paintings in North America were hidden for a thousand years. Researchers using 3D scanners discovered massive Native American drawings inside the Nineteenth unnamed cave, in Alabama. The name was hidden so that the cave would not be vandalized.
Four human-like figures dressed in extravagant outfits, and a 11-foot diamondback rattlesnake are included. It is not known what the true meaning of these drawings are. Some historians have speculated that they could be depicting spirits as Native Americans believed caves were sacred entrances into the underworld.
