What appears to be buried treasure in some cases is actually stoletreasure. The Emanuels in Staten Island were thrilled when they discovered a metal box with rust and rot buried under their lawn. Matthew and Maria found the metal box as they planted trees.
They found $52,000 worth of valuables inside the bag, which included $100 bills, jade, diamonds and gold. In the bag, they also found an address belonging to their neighbors. Matthew and Maria asked the neighbors next door if they’d ever been robbed. They said yes, several years earlier. The NYPD then reunited them with the $52,000 worth of valuables.

What is under your mattress? We all have dust bunnies and other random things that have been stowed under our beds over the years. A person found a surprise in Palawan Philippines: a 75 pound pearl which had lain there for 10 years.
It was a lucky charm that the owner had originally kept under the bed. This 2.2″ x 1″ pearl was named the Puerto Princesa Pearl and is now displayed at the City Hall of the town where it was found. NPR reports thatthe original pearl was found by a fishing boat and is valued at $93 million.
