Unforgettable Airline Travel Horror Stories

The Wrong Runway

The flight was perfect. We flew from Germany to New York at night. As we were approaching JFK, the wheels on the rear touched the ground first. Then the wheels on the front. Everyone began clapping…then for 2.2 seconds you could hear the engines going full throttle and we took off…again.

This was a panic attack for my cousin, who already suffers from them. They didn’t appear to know either. I thought the plane was being hijacked. After 10 minutes of flying in circles, the pilot announced on the PA that we had landed on a runway for take-off. As I fly a lot, I often think of what could have happened.
