Tension during landings
After running out of fuel, they had to make an emergency landing in a snowstorm because we were flying around in circles for 3 hours while waiting for the storms to pass at nearby airports. They had to land with zero visibility, and I could not even see the wing of the plane. We overshot the runway, and ended up in a farmer’s field.
The upside was that we were able to slide down the hill and I got to ride in the firetruck back to the airport. It was a great day for me because I was only 14 years old. Looking back, we all could have been dead during that landing. Even today, I get tense when landing.
