Philadelphia Problems
Have you ever flown into or out of Philly Airport before? If you’ve ever flown out of or into Philly Airport, then you would know. I’ve been to this airport a lot, but never had an experience as bad as the one I had when I flew to London several years ago. We were staying in Maryland before we flew out. So, we drove up from Maryland to Pennsylvania to fly to Philly. The flight was scheduled for 10 pm.
We would prefer to sleep on the plane and arrive in London the next morning. At 9:30pm, we board the plane. After a long time, they inform us that there is a problem on the plane. We all have to leave. It’s only a few minutes, so no problem. They found a second aircraft for us at 1:26am and loaded all our luggage and us passengers onto it. YIKES.
This plane was probably from the 1980s or 1990s. The plane was out-of-date in every possible way and gave me anxiety about safety. The noise is terrible as they start pushing off the gate onto the tarmac. The tarmac was occupied until 3:04am, when they brought us back to the gate. However, we were not allowed to leave the plane.
My mom called the airlines and asked them to change our flight’s destination. We were all relieved that we weren’t flying across the Atlantic. They finally cancel the flight at 4:41am and tell us to call for vouchers. We are then told that we have to do everything ourselves. The only people in the airport are us. We get off the plane and walk back to the terminal.
The only people there. We were the only people there. No security guards or employees. Just us, wandering about after spending six hours in a plane. We had to get moving fast because my mom booked us a flight at JFK Airport for 10am. Our luggage took an EON to arrive because people had to be called to the airport in order to move it from the plane to the baggage claim.
We’re in the taxi at 5:52am, hauling our butts up to New York City. This taxi driver is a god, getting us to JFK before 8:16am. After a few minutes in the lounge, I saw KEVIN BACON exiting the bathroom. By 10:30 am, we were on our way to London. I am glad that we made it to London, even though we missed a whole day. The moral of the story is: Screw Philly Airport.
