Against All Odds
My dad was in cardiac arrest, and it wasn’t likely that he would survive. My mother explained the situation to me over the phone, and that was all I heard. I was placed on a flight home, thinking that my father had died at some point in the flight. It was hard to be on an 8-hour flight with the idea that you would never see your father again.
While flying with strangers, I felt every painful emotion. It was the worst moment of my life. I hope that I will never have to experience something like that again. Once I hit the ground I was told my father was awake and making progress despite the odds. I’m happy that I still have my father.
