The World’s Most Horrible Attention-Seeking Behavior, according to People from Around the World

37. No More

I worked at a call centre and there was an annoying girl who wanted attention. This was a huge call center, with 15 floors and different departments that took calls and made cold calls. She was a famous woman who worked on another floor.

One time, I was in the elevator when she appeared. Someone gets on the elevator and he’s smelling like smoke. She said (to nobody) “If another person smells of smoke and gets into the elevator, I will scream”. We both ignored her, because we knew that engaging with her would escalate the situation.

Another fella is on the elevator, and he also smells of smoke. She sniffed and shrieked loudly before the elevator doors closed. The elevator was very reflective (fancy glassed surface) and I felt someone stabbing me in the ear.

The people who were on the last floor of that building filed a complaint, because that scream scared off customers they were trying hard to sell. Some people claimed they lost sales as a result.

She was fired. She was fired.
