Barbara Mandrell, Retired musician

Barbara Mandrell had a string of hits in the country genre between 1970 and 1980. She became one of the best female singers in the ’80s thanks to her primetime show on NBC. She has won many accolades throughout her career, including seven American Music Awardsand two Grammys. Mandrell has also appeared in television shows such as Walked Texas Ranger , and touched by an angel . Mandrell retired from the music industry in 1997 after her last performance at Grand Ole Opry House. Since 1972, she has been a Grand Ole Opry.
