Treating Lepers Like Lepers
I was a valet at a very classy hotel for about a month. We had Mercedes, BMWs and Range Rovers. Football players drove candy-colored cars. Porsches. One time, someone pulled up in a decent Mercedes. It wasn’t anything high-dollar. He was cool at first , but then did the rudest act I’ve ever seen.
He casually went back to his seat after I handed him the valet claim receipt. He then retrieved a paper. He started to disassemble the newspaper while I held the driver’s side door open. He then placed the newspaper in his driver’s side, to protect it against my dirty self. It was the most rude insult I’ve ever received. He didn’t have to say a word.
