If rich people in the UK want to purchase a Jaguar, they are assigned a salesperson with a high level of knowledge. The meeting takes place in a fancy office and special arrangements are made. Chris was the person who did this. He was able to access things that would not be available to a regular Jaguar salesperson, such as ringing the factory manager for special requests.
A Saudi prince was interested in buying this brand new Jaguar, which had just been released. So, they spent an entire day customizing it. The vehicle cost around 125k. Next, the color was decided. The factory at the time offered 16 color options for this model. The prince asked him if he would like to sleep on the model as it was late and dinner was approaching.
Chris said yes, and the two agreed to meet up in the morning. Chris was surprised when the Saudi prince replied, “I have a solution for my color dilemma.” His response is unforgettable. “I will order one of each colour,” he said.
The prince was happy with their delivery estimate and asked about his options. After being informed about ocean shipping options, the prince asked about air freight. Chris figured they could fly one or two and ship the rest by boat. The prince, however, said “No. I want to fly all 16 vehicles into Saudi Arabia on a plane.”
