The Airplane Advisor
I used to be a part of a company which modified aircrafts for very wealthy people. I’m not talking about Gulfstreams but 747s. This company made several aircrafts for this customer who, I was told, had bought a new plane solely because he had been told by his spiritual advisor that his old plane was bad luck. He let his wife still use it for personal travel.
The silk carpet was, to me, the most beautiful feature of these planes. Not the gold plating or the wood veneers. The silk carpet cost more than $1,000 per square feet and felt like you were walking on a bed made of angel feathers. These guys did not deck out their entire plane. They only decorated the personal areas. But yeah… Silk Carpet.
