Cheating the System

Parking at the local courthouse during my divorce trial was a major pain. It was not only expensive but also had a time limit of two hours. I thought my lawyer had special parking privileges. When I asked him, his response blew me away. The parking situation in the city was a racket, and he had found a way to get around it.

His firm decided that because parking for lawyers was the same, they would just pay the daily parking ticket instead of asking the lawyers to move their cars every two hours. He said that the first time the city imposed “two-hour parking only”, the lawyers tried to comply but found it impossible.

The judge is not interested in your need to move the car. Now the company spends thousands of dollars a month in parking fines, and the city makes a lot of money.
