The Secret Menu
The dad of my friend got a membership to this country club for the summer because his son played in their traveling team. On a random Wednesday the dad was invited to play with other members of the club. They sat at a table and ordered some drinks. The waiter gave the bottle list to an old man and he said “No, please show us the actual list”.
There was indeed a list of very expensive items that could only be obtained by special request. Since my friend first told me this story, I’ve always wondered what special privileges are available to those who ask.
