Consequences of QVC
My friend is over 50 and her parents, who are wealthy, told her to choose her own birthday present. They gave her a price of $1,000. She went to QVC, ordered a bunch clothes, shoes and gadgets, mostly stupid and unnecessary. She would buy a lot of stuff, return some of it, then order more and return another portion.
She thought she would reach $1,000 but after a month of buying, returning and purchasing new items, she had charged $11,000. She and QVC could not agree on which items she had returned and kept. The results were hilarious.
QVC has finally forbidden her to shop with them…ever! Her parents were understandably upset, and they had to finally step in and resolve the issue. QVC and her father eventually agreed on a price between $5,000 and $11,000. QVC reaffirmed to her father at this point that she would never be allowed to purchase anything else from QVC.
