Rich people who are out of touch

You’re Just a Pen, Sir

In college I was a part-time employee of the University Mail Services. I mostly sorted mail, but I also helped with campus deliveries and pickups. One day, I was delivering mail to one of the administrative offices and running my route. The FedEx package was waiting for me to pick it up. I had to sign all the paperwork and note the time.

I forgot my pen in the car, so I asked two people who were walking by if I could borrow a pen for a moment. Both looked at me as if I had asked them to drive his Ferrari. He looked at me, then down at his pen before he handed me the pen with the most condescending attitude I’ve seen. He did indeed make the act by which he handed me a pens condescending.

The lady then said: “You need to ask your boss for an increase so that you can buy your own pen.”
