A Real Nightmare
I had a college classmate who was a wealthy diva. Marries a man whose parents are also millionaires. Both fail out eventually and travel the world using mommy and dad’s money. They soon get married and have their child. At the time, they lived in a mansion with his parents. It was a nightmare, even though it seemed like a fantasy.
She is tired of living in their house and blackmails the mother-in law to buy a home for them or she won’t see her granddaughter again. His family refuses. After weeks of tantrums and Facebook and Twitter rants she finally moves out… to her parents’ vacation house… but she wasn’t done yet.
After a few years, she’s about to be cut off. She comes up with a brilliant idea: she gets pregnant again, then complains on social media about her family abandoning a woman pregnant and her baby. Her parents continue to pour money into the house. The husband’s family buys the house.
Years later, I see her regular updates on social media about overcoming adversity and hardship, beating the odds and chasing your dreams. etc. To this day, the married couple has never received a salary or worked.
