Sedatives and their danger
The lion was in a bad condition and there was a chance that he would not recover after tranquilization. The veterinarian was confident, however, that the sedative would work, especially after observing the lion’s attempts to attack rangers. To safely approach the lion, the only viable option left was to use tranquilizers.
