Samantha was determined to remember the numerous times she had to negotiate, even when it was only about homework, with her students. She began by asking Nicole, “remember the time we talked about that book?” “Remember when we discussed that book? She reminded Nicole of their trust and appealed to her better judgement.
Trust the Balance
Nicole hesitated. Her eyes darted about the room reflecting the turmoil she felt. She was clearly battling two opposing forces: her trust in her teacher, and the fear that brought her to this point.
