You’re right, boss, I followed your orders
Following orders is part and parcel of a healthy relationship between you and your superior. We wonder, however, if the boss is actually happy to hear that the sign-writer literally took the boss’s order. Meta means that the sign is only interesting to those who have some prior knowledge.
These signs are great for spreading the word on social media. They may even get people to remember a restaurant by the sign. However, like so many other signs, they don’t tell us anything about the restaurant. We have no idea what type of food is served or what the specials are.
