Safe spot
Kevin and his co-workers had spent a couple of months trying to locate the snake pits hidden in the jungle. The goal was to improve the safety of Amazonians, but it proved to be a difficult task. It’s not easy to find snake pits because they are a natural phenomenon. Snakes will also leave some pits to create new ones, so they can’t be contained in one spot.
The thick forests hide a hidden treasure
It was a slow, difficult process to track down snake pits. Poor roads made it difficult to get to the forest and snakes are very good at hiding. The snake pits were also dangerous because they could fall into them by accident. In the dense forest, there was little lighting and many pits had leaves covering them. Some of them are deeper than it seems.
