Kevin fired his flare gun in a hurry. In doing so, Kevin scared away the locals, who saw it as a warning of war, which they would rather not experience. The military and his backup arrived quickly. The area was shut down and the pits of snakes were cleared. Kevin informed his team of the important object that natives were worshipping under the pit.
